Good morning Reception! We hope you are all ok. This is the first home learning blog for this week. You can also join in with live sessions if possible (the link is sent via email) or you can try to complete the work with your grown up.
Over the next 2 weeks in Reception we are consolidating our learning and practising previously taught skills.
Can you count backwards from 20?
Today we are going to practice forming numbers to 20 and ordering numbers to 20.
Can you fill in the missing numbers on the sheet below? Remember to form the numbers correctly. You might join us for the live session at 10 am.
Today is tricky word day in phonics! We will be focusing on the tricky words ‘we and all.’ Can you join in with the tricky word song?
You might also join us for the live session at 11 am. Please have this sheet ready. If you are unable to attend please complete the sheet below. Starting with tricky word bingo. Then practise spelling the tricky words ‘we’ and ‘all’. Can you think of a sentence at the end? You might write ‘We can all sing.’ Remember your capital letter and full stop too!

This week we have continued to revisit the phonemes/graphemes we have learned so far. We focused on: ar, or, ur, ow, oi, ear, ure and air. We also looked at tricky words: said and they.
We have enjoyed learning about 3D shapes. We have explored shapes in the environment by going on shape hunt. We have also created patterns and solved problems too. Well done!
Lots of writing
The children have been so busy this week. They have really impressed us with their sentence writing.
Making a bug house
The children have been really interested in bugs! We decided to make our own bug house.
On the bikes!
We have really enjoyed using the bikes and scooters this week.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend!

In the Autumn we planted some peas and beans. We looked after them through the Winter and Spring. This week we harvested them and tasted them. We have also grown mint and lettuces so we tasted them as well.
This week we read the story of Puppy Number 5. Ask your child what happened. We used 5 frames to put out 5 objects and also practised number bonds to 5 by showing the number in different ways using our fingers.
We found a new song about number 5 and the children asked if it could go on the blog so they could join in with it at home…
Some other things this week…
…a picnic lunch.
Have a good weekend from the Nursery team
