Challenge of the day
Today’s challenge is to talk about what makes a good friend. We recently discussed this during circle time at school so it will be interesting to see how much the children can remember.
How are you a good friend at school? How are you a good friend at home?
We are all missing our friends at the moment. What could you do to show everyone from school that you are still a good friend? You may write a letter or draw a picture. You could do this for one friend or all of your friends at school. If you do not have contact with your school friends keep it safe and you can pass it on once we return to school.
Reception only – Phonics
Please continue to practise your letter formation. Maybe focus on todays letter sound. Can you think of any words that start with the letter sound ‘t’. Can you write any?
Here are some words to practise. Can you read them? Can you write them?
Here are some useful video links to watch.
Reading at home
There are some super, free eBooks available on: https://www.oxfordowl.co.uk You will need to create an account but it is completely free.
Reception only – Maths
Again we are looking at 1 more and 1 less. Can you complete this challenge?
Ask a grown-up to draw a spotty snake. How many spots does it have? Can you count them? Can you draw a snake that has one less spot?
There are also lots of songs that can help us practise one less.
How many ways can you make 3? Can you rearrange objects to see other numbers that make up 3? I can see 1 and 2 make 3.
A fun activity to do…
Dancing is fun as well as being a great way to encourage your child to be active and healthy.
Your child will enjoy moving their bodies to the rhythm and beat of different types of music and will enjoy copying your fabulous dance moves.
