This week the children have really been involved in their play both inside and outside. they are beginning to build up relationships with their peers and are getting to grips with the routines and boundaries in place in Nursery.

Inside the children have been developing the strength in their hands and wrists by hammering golf tees into a pumpkin. This activity not only develops strength but prepares them for holding a pencil and manipulating it for writing. They have been busy with lots of other activities as well…

The children have enjoyed lots of fresh air this week and have done a variety of different activities. They have been planting, playing in the water and gravel and using their imagination with the crates…
This week we have made all the children a ‘mini me’. They have loved playing with them. Some children have shared a book with their mini me and other have taken them for a ride in a vehicle. I wonder what they will do with them next week…
The children have been trying really hard to put their coats on independently. Please continue to support them at home to practise this and especially to hold their sleeves when they take their coat off so the sleeves are not inside out when they need to put their coat back on.
Our story this week has been ‘Fat cat on a mat’. It is another simple rhyming story for the children to join in with some of the words. Please share it with your child and talk about the rhyming words and the pictures. See if they can tell you what will happen at the end before you get to it.
Have a good weekend from the Nursery team
