A busy week in Reception

Friday 6th December | No comments yet

In phonics this week we have learnt the phonemes; v and w. We have practised saying them and writing them.

We have also been assessing the children on the sounds that we have covered so far. The children have loved showing off their phonics knowledge and we are very proud of the progress that they have all made.

In Maths this week we have been working on our number formation. Lots of children have continued this during their ‘choosing time’ too!

Raisins were an added treat this week! So in true reception style we used them as a teaching tool to practise our maths!

This week we acquired a new height chart for the outside area. The children enjoyed measuring themselves to see who is the tallest and who is the shortest.

Christmas Play

The children are almost ready for their audience next week. We would appreciate your attendance on either Tuesday 10th December at 9.30am or Thursday 12th December at 2.00pm.

Homework this week is to write a sentence which includes one or more of our tricky words (I, the, to, go and no).

Have a lovely weekend.
