Nursery’s week

Friday 22nd June | 1 comment

We have had such a busy week in Nursery. We have been learning about 2D shapes and their properties, centipedes, India, travelling to South Africa, planned a pool party, practised writing our names, g phoneme, caterpillars and exploring a new outdoor area. We think the children are ready for the weekend!

In phonics this week we have revised the sounds s, a, t, i, p, m, n, d and learnt about g. g is a short sound which we make with our mouth open. We found objects which started with a g – goat, grapes, green and glue.

In our maths work we have been looking at 2D shapes and sorting them in to groups – circles, triangles, squares and rectangles. We have discussed how many sides they have and if they are curved or straight. We continue to practise counting objects that cannot be moved such as claps and jumps.

Thank you to all the parents who have volunteered to help unfortunately we can’t take you all as we have limited spaces for accompanying adults. I will confirm next week the adults coming along with risk assessments and itinerary for both visits.

Our week in photos…

Enjoy the sunshine!
