Outdoor fun in the sun in Nursery

Friday 25th May | 2 comments

Every week I download the photos of our week from 3 different ipads and I think you will agree we have done a lot of learning and playing using our amazing outdoor space. Some children visited the farm and chickens, others collected pond weed for our tadpoles and there was lots of fun had playing on the hill on tyres too…

As well as all the fun we have outside we have been learning a new phoneme. This week we have revised the phonemes we have learnt so far s, a, t, i, p and now we know ‘n’. We discovered it is a long sound and that objects like nuts, net, nine and Noah start with a n.

In our number work we have reached the number 10. We are practising counting claps and the beats of a drum as well as showing how to record 10. Most children did really well writing the figure 10. We continue to count down from 10 to 0 and up to 20/30.

The last term will be soon upon us and this is when we will do our final trip in Nursery. Letters will go out after the holidays but so you can be prepared the dates are as follows:

Thursday 12th July (AM, WTF, plus other children)

Monday 16th July (PM, MTW, plus other children)

The trip will almost be a full day either starting early in the morning (8.30)  or 11.30. We will need a lot of volunteers in order for this trip to take place so please put the dates in your diaries. On the day your child doesn’t go on the trip they will do some transition time in one of the Reception classes.

Also this week, some indoor learning…

We hope you all have a super half term and we look forward to seeing you in June!

You all have been been busy in the nursery this week and learning lots of exciting things. Vanshika enjoyed going to the farm and meeting the chickens. She had great fun. She will be looking forward to the summer trip. Her brother(Ashwin from 3B) has also been to Harlow Carr and told her what she will see. ?
