This week in RF
Friday 18th May | No comments yet
This week the children have been talking about the forthcoming Royal wedding. At the beginning of the week the children used the internet to find out who is getting married. They discussed what they would like to do during the week. They had lots of ideas and everyone was enthusiastic. As the week progressed the children made bunting and flags and worked together to ensure they ended up with flags they could wave. Some children wrote invitations and others made red jelly for everyone to eat. The children wanted to have their faces painted so most of them had something in red, white and blue. They knew that these colours represented our country because they are the colours in our flag. Finally today we played the games the children had suggested in our PE lesson and we had a picnic lunch outside with everyone dressed in red, white and blue.
There were other things happening this week. Some children made hot cross buns and everyone chose a picture of their favourite character or interest and wrote about it. The pictures ranged from castles to My Little Pony!
We learned a new but very tricky sound this week, ‘ure’ and continued to practise all the other Phase 2 and 3 phonemes. Next week we will be learning the ‘er’ sound.
Enjoy the weekend and the Royal wedding if you are watching it.
