We love stories!

We have had such a busy week in Nursery. The children were super excited about our trips to Farsley library. It was lovely to see the children listening to the stories.
The children were very giddy about going on our rearranged trip to the library. I think they were more excited about going on a minibus! Clare at Farsley library welcomed us each day and read some lovely stories. It was great to find out what our toys had been up to in the night. All the toys chose books for us to take back to school to read over the next few weeks. I will be emailing the videos for you to see what happened at the library. Thank you to all the parents who volunteered to help we couldn’t have done it without you!
In our phonics we have been remembering the phonemes we have already learnt – s, a, t, p. This week we learnt the ‘i’, i for igloo. The children are working really hard to segment words such as it, in, is, pin.
In our number work we have learnt about the number 9. Counting 9 objects and representing ‘9’ on paper. We continue to count up to 20 and back from 10. Counting the beats of a drum is challenging the children to really focus on quiet/silent counting.
Also this week we been finding out about the Royal Wedding by reading 2 lovely books ‘Worm Loves Worm’ and ‘The Queens Hat’. The children have been busily making bunting and union jack flags ready for Friday’s outdoor picnic. There has also been crowns to decorate.
We have also been busy practising our bat and ball skills, learning how to take photos/films on iPad’s, playing games with friends, playing outside on bikes, baking, making play dough and looking at a snake’s skin.
Wishing you a happy, sunny weekend. See you on Monday for the last week of term!
