Chinese New Year in Nursery

Thursday 26th January | 1 comment

This week we have been learning all about the Chinese New Year which people will be celebrating on Saturday 28th January. This year it is the year of the Rooster. The children have listened to the story of Chinese New Year and how all the animals had a race. See if your child can tell you which animal won the race!

The children enjoyed acting out the story. We read the book ‘Cleversticks’ which is about a Chinese boy who isn’t good at anything and doesn’t want to go to school. This is until he uses 2 paintbrushes to eat a biscuit. The children found it very hard to eat a biscuit using chopsticks!!

Matilda was very excited to tell us she’d been a snake that swam all my itself! She also told us she couldn’t pick up her biscuit with the chop sticks!! I think we may have a new party game!!
