Busy times in Reception

Monday 5th December | 1 comment

Reception have been very busy at school over the last week and will continue to be during the upcoming weeks.

The children have been rehearsing for our Christmas performances which are taking place this week. Performance details are:

Tuesday 6th December at 9.30am

Thursday 8th December at 2.00pm

In literacy, the children have been listening to the story  ‘The Princess and the Frog’.

The children made story maps in groups and used props to retell the story. They have also been labelling castles and playing with the castle small world area. As well as all of this, the children have been making castles out of clay and this week they will be painting them.

In numeracy, the children have been learning the numbers 17, 18, 19 and 20. They have practised writing the numbers and finding missing numbers on a number line. They have also been making the numbers in different ways using Numicon.

Reception have an exciting school trip coming up to ‘Abbey House Museum’ where they will be completing Christmas craft activities and visiting Santa. RF are going on Wednesday 7th December and RH are going on Wednesday 14th December.
