Welcome back!

Welcome back to the second Autumn half term. We hope you and your children had a lovely break. They certainly seem eager to continue where they left off with their learning.

We had a lovely end to the first half term with our trip to Blackhills. This half term we are beginning by learning about Bonfire Night. The children will listen to stories about why we remember this night and have the opportunity to take part in lots of  different activities including listening to firework music and producing their own piece of music. Other activities will include painting firework pictures, making rocket pictures using shapes and making 3D rockets and fireworks. Please help by sending in any cardboard tubes (sorry not toilet rolls) for the children to use in their model making.

In maths the children will be revising 2D (flat) shapes and learning about 3D or solid shapes. They will be looking around to find shapes in the environment and working out ways to record how many different shapes they see.

In Literacy the children will be learning firework vocabulary and writing their own firework words whilst working on their pencil control. They will be using their speaking and listening skills when they find out about Guy Fawkes

On Thursday 26th November we will be holding 2 drop in sessions to help your child with maths. You will receive more information soon but there will be two sessions running from 3.30pm-4.15pm approximately and 7.00pm until 7.45pm approximately. Please put this date in your diaries.
