5 Little Gold Stars

This year the Foundation Stage Christmas performance is called ‘The Super Star Nativity’. It is about a star who is sad as he is a huge bright star and he wants to be a tiny twinkling star like all the other stars. Everyone keeps telling the star that he is special but it isn’t until the end that he believes them.

We are busy practising all the songs for the performance and thought it would be good for the children to practise them at home too.
The song 5 little gold stars has 5 different verses and we sing it to the tune of ‘5 Little Monkeys’. The tune and words are below to help.

Thank you

Five little, gold stars high up in the sky,
They saw a donkey and they wondered why,
The donkey said, “To Bethlehem I must go,”
“How do I get there do you know?”

Four little, gold stars high up in the sky,
They saw some people and they wondered why,
The people said, “We need somewhere to stay.”
“Can you guide us to an inn this way?”

Three little, gold stars high up in the sky,
They saw an angel and they wondered why,
The angel said, “Where’s the shepherd’s hill?”
“Show me up there if you will.”

Two little, gold stars high up in the sky,
They saw some shepherds and they wondered why,
The shepherds said, “A babe we’re looking for,”
“Can you guide us to the stable door?”

One little gold star high up in the sky,
He saw some kings and he wondered why?
The kings said, “Baby Jesus should be near.”
“Can you show us the way through here?”
