We had a great time during our fun day outdoors on Wednesday. The children enjoyed learning about the world around them.
We would like to say a huge thank you for all your kindness and generosity with gifts and cards. We have had a great year and wish the children the best of luck next year.

A busy last week in Nursery, with two trips. At the beginning of the week, the children made jam sandwiches and took them to the park to eat.
The children really enjoyed eating the sandwiches they had made and having a drink of juice.
The children had fun running around and playing games. They climbed on the adventure apparatus.
We also had a trip around the school grounds. We visited the chickens, the orchard and the poly tunnels. The children are so lucky to have all this available to them to explore.
What a wonderful year we have all had in Nursery. A big thank you for all the gifts. Have a lovely summer, from the Nursery team.

Reception had a fantastic ‘Seaside Afternoon’ yesterday. There were loads of activities to take part in; including sand and water play, ball games, hoops and a bouncy castle! We even enjoyed a special seaside picnic in the sun. Thank you to all the adults from home who came to school to join in with the fun!

What a fun filled, enjoyable and tiring day we had on Tuesday when we went to RHS Harlow Carr near Harrogate.
The children were excited as soon as they arrived at Nursery. We had lots of adult helpers which made the day a great success. Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who were able to come and to our two drivers. For those parents who were not able to come there are lots of photos to show you what we did.
The children travelled by bus…
When we arrived we went into the classroom to meet Sam. She told us about the ‘Colour Crazy’ workshop we were going to do. She showed us Colin the Caterpillar who had lost his colours so we went on a hunt to find them…
Then we went on a walk to find different coloured leaves and petals around the garden…
Next we made pictures and patterns with the things we had collected…
Everyone was very hungry…
In the afternoon we went to explore…
Other things we got up to…
We enjoyed climbing and sliding!
We were very tired on the way home…
I am sure you will agree that it was a fantastic day. Have a good weekend, from all the Nursery team.

This week, the children have been developing their language to describe capacity, length and weight.
The children had great fun comparing weight using a seesaw!
This week the tricky word was ‘her’.
The children have been recognising and reading final consonant clusters in words. We have focussed on:
st (first) sk (tusk) nd (sand) nk (pink) ft (left) mp (jump)
The highlight of the week….
making yummy pizzas!
Important dates next week:
Sports Day is on Wednesday 10th July. Once you’ve dropped your child off, you’re welcome to stay and enjoy Sports Day with us. We ask that parents/carers wait around the playground for the Opening Ceremony which will begin as close to 9am as possible. Please can the children come to school with sun cream on and bring a bottle of water to drink during the morning so they stay hydrated.
Reception are inviting parents/carers/relatives to a Seaside Picnic on Thursday 11th July at 2.30. This is usually a really relaxed and lovely afternoon – we hope to see you there! You will have to come through the front entrance to gain access into school.
Have a great weekend.

This week has been jam packed again!
On Tuesday afternoon and Thursday morning we had lots of visitors. The new Nursery children and their parents came to play. Our children were very well behaved and welcoming. Some of our children had the opportunity to visit their new classroom and meet their new teacher. Over the next two weeks the children will have more opportunities to visit and Mrs Puddiphatt and Miss Bray will continue to pop in to Nursery so the children become more familiar with them.
The children have been developing their confidence and skill on balance bikes. They manoeuvred around obstacles and then race back to the start. They had to wait for their turn!
Some other things this week…
Going to the shop
On Tuesday we are going to Harlow Carr and you should all have received the information sheets. The weather looks OK at the moment!
Wednesday is Sport’s day. The children who do not attend Nursery on Wednesday morning are invited to join in but must remain with their adult when not racing. We are Team France and need to dress in red, white and blue but suitable for racing!
Have a lovely weekend, from the Nursery team.
