What a lot of fun in RH!

This week we have had the arrival of two new fish. We have opened up a competition for the children to decide on names for the fish. Thee names will be decided next week.

This week we have been learning about fish and how to look after them. We have also been learning about the Royal family and have been getting very excited about the wedding on Saturday. We have looked at the family tree, read a book named ‘Does the Queen sleep with her crown on?’ and have watched the changing of the guards on You Tube. We have talked a lot about where we live and that London is the capital city of England which is why the Queen lives there. We have also read the story ‘The Queen’s Knickers’ which the children found very funny.

In maths, we have been revisiting addition. The children have been adding two groups together by counting on from the first number. For example, 5+6, the children start at 5 and then count on 6,7,8,9,10, 11. This is a really important skill for the children to learn. They have also been using drawings to complete additions and have been counting on using numberlines.

I hope he wasn’t too disappointed when he realised he wasn’t going. The children loved the picnic!
