This week in RF

This week seems to have gone by so quickly!

The children have had lots of variety to progress their learning. In Maths we have been solving problems using the book “1 is a snail, 10 is a crab!” The children had to work out number problems using animals with a different number of feet. It was a very busy session but the children had lots of fun working out the problems. We will be returning to this book in a couple of weeks.

On Thursday we went to The Rainbow Factory for the day. The venue is a fantasy story land and our day was based on the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. The session began with a show and the children were thoroughly engrossed. We also had an acting workshop, a storytelling workshop and a lesson on how to draw a giant.

Next week we are continuing the theme of story and encouraging the children to use their imagination and make up their own stories. In phonics we will introduce the new sounds ‘air’ and ‘ure’. In Maths we will be doing some more problem solving as well as ensuring the children have a good grasp of numbers up to 20.

Have a good weekend, from the RF team.
