Egg Bonanza in Nursery!
Friday 31st March | No comments yet
It might be the last week of term but the Nursery children have been busier than ever! On Monday we had a parcel delivered; inside was a letter that asked us to look after some eggs, keeping them somewhere warm and we would meet them soon. The children had lots of ideas of how to keep them warm: making a nest with towels, using a radiator and the sunshine. In the end, we introduced them to a new word: ‘incubator’. We carefully placed the eggs inside and each day we are checking to see what might have hatched. The ideas of what could be in the eggs so far are dolls, chocolate eggs, crocodiles, chicks, lions, elephants, monkeys, ducks and giraffes!
The children have listened and learnt about the Christian festival – Easter. We have talked about Easter and what Christians do to celebrate it.
We have recognised the cross on the hot cross buns before we ate them! We gave the children the opportunity to cut out eggs, find eggs using tweezers, draw patterns on eggs and paint/draw what they think is inside our eggs. The children have enjoyed making Easter nests and going on an Easter hunt! I wonder what they found?
Stay and Play
After the holidays we will be starting our Stay and Play sessions on a Wednesday. This will give you the opportunity to play with your child, read books or play games. Remember you don’t have to come every week; the sessions run from 8.45-9.15 and 12.30-1pm and everyone is welcome.
I am pleased to inform you that ALL the Nursery children will have the opportunity to come on a summer school trip to St Leonard’s Farm, Esholt on Thursday 13th July. This trip will be a whole day trip and we will need lots of adult volunteers (drivers too!). More details to follow.
We hope you and your family have a lovely 2 week break and we look forward to seeing you on Tuesday 18th April.
