This week we are reading the story ‘We’re Going on a Picnic’ by Pat Hutchins. It is about a hen, duck and goose who decided to have a picnic but can’t decide where to have it. There are also some sneaky animals who pinch their food.

Over this week and next we will be planning our own healthy picnic. The children will be looking healthy and non healthy food and suggesting what we could have on our picnic. They will also need to write a shopping list for what we need to buy. The children can also have a go at making their own picnic basket using boxes.

We are continuing to practise out letter sounds. So far we have learnt about the phonemes s, a, t, i, p, m, n. This week we are learning about ‘d’.

Transition to Reception
Over the next few weeks we will be visiting the Reception classrooms so the children get used to their new classrooms.

Sunshine
Please can we ask that as the weather gets warmer that children come to school with sun cream on. Please can children also put their labelled hats on their pegs.

Have a super week
The Nursery team.
