Nursery have had a fantastic bear week. They have labelled their teddies, prepared for a picnic and helped to read the story ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’. The children then created their own bear hunt (yes we did find a bear!!!). We decided that we were never going on a bear hunt ever again!
This was followed by a super teddy bears’ picnic.

Yesterday we all had great fun outside in the sunshine at our Reception Beach Party! The children paddled, bounced and made sand castles and had yummy picnic to finish it off.
It was a wonderful way celebrate a lovely year. Well done to all the Reception children for achieving and working hard across the year!
A big thank you to Howard Bradley for providing lots of fun equipment for the afternoon. Thanks also to the parents for providing picnic food for the children.
Just a reminder that Sports Day will be held next Thursday and the children will need to come dressed in the colour for their allocated country. Parents are invited to the opening ceremony and then to watch the Foundation Stage races.
We have collected the majority of the library books. Please send your child’s book in if you have it at home. Next Friday we will be passing book bags up to the next teacher.

This week we are focusing all our learning around bears! The children will be sequencing and acting out the story ‘Going on a Bear Hunt’. Writing labels for their teddy bears, making jam sandwiches and having a teddy bears picnic! We may even have time to have our own bear hunt!
Weather permitting Sports Day is on Thursday 16th July. It will start with an opening ceremony, followed by our races. The Nursery children will be involved in a running race, quoit on the head race and the egg and spoon race. We will also support Reception children’s races. Afternoon children and those who attend the beginning of the week can join in when the actual races are called. Please make sure the children are dressed in appropriate clothing for running. Nursery will be part of the England team so England colours would be good.
Stay and Play
The last stay and play sessions will take place on Wednesday 15th July. Everyone is welcome.
Library books will be collected in this Wednesday along with your child’s book bags. Please make sure all books are returned by the end of the week.
End of term is getting near!!
Don’t forget we don’t break up until Tuesday 21st July.
Have a great week
The Nursery Team.

Wild Animal Performance
Take a look below to see some of the fantastic performances from Friday. Thank you to all the parents and families who came to see the children’s performances. Mrs Fulton and Miss Curteis were very proud of all the children for having the confidence to get up on the stage in front of a large audience!
Our Beach Party
Remember it is our beach party on Thursday afternoon. Everyone should have received a letter requesting a food donation and information about the event. Please let us know if you have any questions.
This week in our Literacy lessons we are thinking forward into Year 1. The children will be writing wishes on our Wishing Tree that we be displayed in the Reception corridor. We will also be looking back on an exciting year and recording what we have enjoyed the most. Our new tricky word is ‘looked’.
In our maths lessons this week we will be re-capping methods of addition and subtraction and solving problems as well as completing lots of fun practical activities.
Have a wonderful week!!
