We hope you have had a great 2 weeks and have managed to enjoy the gorgeous weather! As the sunny weather has arrived please can you make sure your child has a named hat on their peg and sun cream applied before coming to Nursery.
Since October we have had Miss Halalat and Miss Egan (Leeds Metropolitan teaching students) completing day visits and for the next 4 weeks they will be leading some teaching sessions. The children have a busy, fun packed few weeks ahead!
For the next few weeks our topic will be ‘Let’s get growing’. The children started the week by looking for natural objects outside and ticking them off. We are measuring plants using duplo bricks, playing in soil, making handprint trees and making cress heads!
St George’s Day
We are celebrating St George’s Day on Wednesday 22nd April (actual day is 23rd April). The children are welcome to come to school wearing red and white clothes, football tops, prince and princess’ outfits. We will finding out about the story of St George, making swords and shields and playing with castles and knights.
Don’t forget to let us know if you are able to make the trip to Hesketh Farm on Friday 26th June. The price of the trip is £17.50 this includes entry in to the farm for an adult and child and transport. You are welcome to pay a deposit of £5.
Stay and Count
This Wednesday sees the start of ‘Stay and Count’. The timings are 8.45-9.15 and 12.30-1pm. Instead ‘Stay and Read’ there will be lots of number games and activities for you to play to encourage and develop your child’s counting skills.
Have a great week.
