The children have had a fantastic week with parties and pantomimes and lots of other fun times. Have a look at our photos of the party. Happy Christmas from Mrs Fulton and Mrs Longhorn.

The nursery children had 2 super parties today. All the children made a party hat and played musical bumps, musical statues and pass the parcel. We tucked in to some lovely food. Then we had a special visitor – Father Christmas!
By Friday all the children will have brought home lots of crafts and goodies that they have been making over the past few weeks.
It has been a great term and we are so proud of all the Nursery children. They have listened well and worked so hard. Thank you for all your lovely cards and gifts. Have a super 2 weeks and we look forward to seeing you in 2015!

What an amazing first term in Reception. The children have been working very hard and Miss Curteis and Mrs Fulton both agree that they already seem a lot more grown up than when they first started in September!
This week is full of Christmas cheer! The children will be watching KS1 and KS2 Christmas performances as well as getting busy with different Christmassy crafts.
The children will be having a party day on Thursday and are allowed to come in their party clothes. A letter has gone home asking for a small amount of party food for the afternoon.
We wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year and hope that you have a restful 2 weeks ready for an exciting January. Many thanks for all of your continual support and a big well done to all the children.
Our next topic – ‘People who help us!’ In January the children in Reception will be focusing on different occupations and people who help us. Each of our role play areas will reflect this in the new term. Mrs Fulton’s classroom is going to have a new garage and we are asking if any parents have a Little Tykes car that we could borrow as well as any car magazines. Miss Curteis’ classroom is going to have a Post Office added and we are in search of a till. If anyone has anything suitable please get in touch. Also if you have a job that might be appropriate for this topic we would love you to come in and talk to the children about it!

What a wonderful visit to Abbey House Museum this morning! The children made crowns before they visited Father Christmas and then received a lovely present from him. Afterwards the children dressed up in Christmas outfits and had a very exciting time. What a lovely trip and as one child said “a very exciting place to visit” at any time.

Another very busy week leading up to Christmas! We performed our first Nativity production this morning and all the children rose to the occasion. We are very proud of the children as it takes a lot of courage to stand on the stage in front of a room full of adults. Well done everyone! The next performance is on Thursday afternoon at 2pm if you couldn’t make it today.
On Friday morning, RF are going to Abbey House Museum. Please send your child in their school uniform.
This week as well as the production we are beginning to make Christmas cards and calendars. We hope you like them when the children bring them home next week.
Next Thursday is our Christmas party and the children can wear party clothes. You will receive a letter this week requesting a donation of food for the party.
It’s not all about Christmas though! We are continuing with reading and working on the children’s number targets.
Have a good week from the Reception team.

The children will be learning about the story of Christmas. We were impressed by what they already knew by looking at a picture…
‘That is Mary’
‘The baby is Jesus’
‘That man is his daddy’.
We will also be making our Christmas cards and calendars. The main excitement of the week is our ‘Lazy sheep concert’. We hope to see you on either Tuesday morning or Thursday afternoon.
Have a great week

What an exciting morning for RC!
We had a brilliant time at Abbey House Museum this morning and all felt very festive by lunchtime. The children all got very busy dressing up in different festive outfits as-well as making lovely elf hats. We were very lucky as each child received a gift from Santa after visiting him in his workshop. The children loved looking around the museum too! Take a look at the pictures below to get a taste of the Christmas fun we had this morning. Unfortunately I’m not able to post all the photos on the blog but they will be on display on the whiteboard on Monday.
A big thank you to all the adults who helped on our trip today. It was great to have you there!

This week the nursery children have been busy exploring colour. They have made there own coloured rice, coloured bauble and made rainbow toast! We also did a little science experiment using milk, food colouring and fairy liquid – ask your child what happened?

The nursery children had a superb trip yesterday. They had lots of fun with paint, looking in the mills archive and the art gallery. We saw some many different colours. The children behaved beautifully and were a credit to the school.
Thank you to all the parent volunteers who without we couldn’t have done the trip – you were great!
